Character. A demanding Brazilian MTB marathon through the semi-arid caatinga landscape of Piauí state. One of the toughest single-day MTB events in South America.

Conditions. Brazilian July (dry season): 28–36 °C, extremely dry, rocky caatinga terrain, fine dust.

Lube plan

If you wax — ZFC-recommended path. Extreme heat demands a heat-tolerant wax formulation. Single pre-event application; carry Synergetic as mandatory insurance — 130 km in 35 °C heat stresses lubricants well beyond the kilometre rating.

If you're on oil — pragmatic equivalent. Run a heat-rated oil. Apply pre-event, carry a bottle; one mid-ride top-up is likely needed in caatinga heat.
